Tonight was our mutual (youth) night and the activity was combined young men and young women. We had a bunch of rubbish as props and had them divide into two teams to make a short movie to be filmed and screened for the whole group at the end of the night. The movies were so to say "interesting" and will not be winning any awards anytime soon, but they did have some fun when they eventually forgot the embarrassment thing and just participated.
One of the young men has a problem with one of his leaders and I spent most of the evening with him trying to talk with him about the issues. I worry about what the youth are exposed to and their attitudes as a result - it seems that the way to deal with problems is to belittle, ignore and demean those you have a problem with. No such thing as rational thinking here. I think I may have gotten through (just a little) and he will try a challenge out for a short period - we will see how things develope.
Anyways, time for bed so I can get up early and be ready for work.
