As it says above, today was just another day. Nothing extra special happened besides a day at work where we were informed that our legal and accounts departments have been successful in lobbying the government for tax rebates on donations to the church (tithing etc). The thing now is that we are able to claim tithing back at the end of the financial year which we were never able to do before which means a nice payment from the government at year end instead of the other way around.
I went to mutual tonight and we only had four young men there (kyle and the Melton boys are all camping at the church site in Hartebeespoort and the van As boys stayed home because they were tired) I suppose the school holidays are affecting everyone...
We made catapults out of dowel sticks and string which took a lot longer than expected but we had fun (I think the adults had a lot more fun than the youth that were there!)
We eventually completed our catapult but were unable to test anything properly because we ran out of time - I can see the thing being used on Sunday by some young men.
I am getting ready to go to Cape Town tomorrow but it will only be for the day - a quick in and out. I leave at six in the morning and the flight back arrives at eight fifteen, so I should be home at around nine tomorrow night which makes it three out of three nights this week so far that I am not home until late. It feels wrong to be coming into the house when all of the children are asleep already and Ruby is just waiting up for me.
Anyway - I hear Ruby finishing up now so we can get out and on our way to bed...
