The reason for coming to Madagascar

Wednesday 15th September

First appointment at 11am Mada time so I am waiting for a couple of hours for a lift. Living in a hotel room is really not my favourite thing in the world.

Meeting went ok. I think we have agreed on a price for the land and I just need the ok from the office on the amount agreed on. If this one does come through, we will celebrate – this is the first property in Toamasina so this is the beginning of a new stage in the development / growth of the church in this part of the world.

Approval granted by the big shots! I now need to send the word to the Mission President and our office here. I can try for one last stab at a saving on the purchase price then give the go ahead for the purchase to move forward. We will see what the sellers have to say when I send the information through.

All finalised with local Priesthood and the sellers. Now we wait to get the agreement together and send it to the sellers – we should own the property within a few weeks now, a historic moment in the Church’s history in Mada and good to be a part of it.
